Diaper Info & Care
Fancy Pants Diapers are one-size pocket diapers. All of the diapers (silky and minky) have a layer of waterproof PUL lining the outer fabric, so none of them need a cover.
All Fancy Pants diapers have special snaps that enable each diaper to be adjusted (click to see how) to fit most babies from birth to potty training. Each diaper comes with two microfiber absorbent inserts, as shown in the picture below. We include two inserts instead of just one so that our customers have the ability to double up inserts for heavy wetters or night time (just make sure the leg gussets are snug!).

The interior of most Fancy Pants Diapers is smooth microsuede and has elastic at the back of the diaper where the inserts go in, like this:

However, a few of the prints have a fleece interior, and a flap where the inserts are stuffed in, like this:

We are in the process of adding the specific interior types to each diaper's individual description, but in the mean time, here is a list of the prints that DO have the fleece interior:

Diaper Use and Care Tips:
Wash your diapers once before the first use, you can just toss them in a regular warm cycle with cloth diaper safe detergent.
Washing soiled diapers:
1. Knock, spray, wipe or dunk poop into toilet. Note that breastfed and/or formula fed baby poo is water soluble, so you can skip this step until your baby starts eating solid foods.
2. Remove insert(s) from pocket and toss everything in your wet bag until laundry day.
3. Laundry day: dump the contents of your wet bag into the washer (toss the bag in, too, if you want). Run a COLD prewash rinse.
4. Add the recommended amount of cloth diaper safe detergent (we like 2T of Rockin' Green here) and run a HOT/COLD cycle. We have a "Heavy Duty" cycle on our machine that works very thoroughly.
5. Run an extra rinse if desired. We run ours on WARM.
6. Tumble dry medium/hot or line dry.
7. Remove from dryer, stuff your pockets and admire your stash!
Note: We occasionally do some extra steps to keep stinkies away:
About once a month we will do a Funk Rock (available in the detergent section here on the site) soak to ward off amonia stink. ***ALWAYS START WITH CLEAN DIAPERS WHEN DOING A SOAK!***
Also, every 2 weeks or so we will add a few squirts of Bac-Out (available at health food stores) to the pre-wash to keep poop stinkies away. Bac-Out is a little controversial, so please do your research before using this on your diapers. We have had success with it and haven't had any diaper damage or irritated bottoms after using it, but we make no guarantees that you will have the same results.
